We loved Paros with it’s quaint slate streets and quiet atmosphere. We only saw a small portion of Paros as we only had 2 nights on the island and one of the days we did a sailboat cruise. The hotel we stayed at, Kanale’s Rooms and Suites was close to a beach so we did a beach day when we first arrived. The hotel provided towels so we walked to the beach and layed on our towels and swam. The town of Naoussa was a short, almost flat walk from the hotel. There were restaurants along the pier and two open air restaurants on the boat dock – Sigi’s and Tsachapinis. There were rows of long tables and chairs set out in front of each restaurant and bordered with fishing boats on the ocean side. The atmosphere here was wonderful. We had a great meal, as they all were during our vacation, at Sigi’s. We all said that during this vacation, there wasn’t a bad bite!!
Restaurants
Sigi’s – great food, open air with boats along the side. Servers friendly.
Tsachapini’s – beside Sigi’s, same idea.
Platia di Gusto – Italian restaurant in a little square under a tree. Very quaint.
Galariki Cruise – the best!!!
We had booked a boat cruise before left the states. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, we were notified the day before the cruise that the cruise was canceled due to a mechanical issue. We scrambled and rebooked a higher end one that we had heard about, Glarakicruises.com. It was the best thing that could have happened. It turned out to be a highlight of our vacation. The boat was immaculate and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The lunch they cooked onboard was fabulous. Three drinks were provided and then any more were a nominal charge. We stopped at 4 swimming spots including the Blue Lagoon with its aquamarine water. Steve and Jim did a 33-foot cliff jump. It was such a relaxing way to wrap up or island adventures!!
Paros was beautiful. We wish we had more time here. We will be back someday, but for now, back to Athens then home!
