We have lived on the South Shore our entire lives. We would always drive by a run-down Thai place that everyone raved about, but we didn’t find it particularly inviting. Fast forward 40 years and the old place is replaced by this masterpiece, Machim House of Thai Food.

The exterior is very trendy and welcoming. The interior is beautifully set up with the black and white theme coupled with greenery everywhere. The staff was incredibly friendly and the food delicious! Jim and I went with our friends, Carol and John, and everyone was raving about their experience.

We started with some wings that had the perfect mix of sweet and spice and Golden Bags which were little fried satchels of delicious pork, shrimp, chicken and corn. We then shared the Machim Fried Rice (house rice) that had a nice smokey flavor. I got the Dry Garlic Jumbo Shrimp. They were definitely jumbo shrimp that were fried without batter and topped with scallions and crunchy garlic. Carol also got a shrimp dish, but this was served over vegetables in a brown sauce. This was served over a bed of lettuce. Jim ordered the Tamarind Duck that he absolutely loved. The large piece of duck cam batter fried over sauteed vegetables in a brown sauce and cashews. John got the Bangkok Beef dish that he said was fabulous. And what would dinner in a Thai restaurant be without some Saki.

We were too full to have any dessert, but I am certain they would have been to die for.
If you haven’t been to Machim, we suggest you get there soon. You don’t want to miss out on the best Thai food around.
Until next time,
Patti and Jim
Looks phenomenal! Glad you liked it!
